In the same spirit as the musical paintings series, the totems are for me a chance to have some fun both whilst painting them and exhibiting them. Due to their long, elongated form, surface of the canvas is narrow and limited but it permits a particularly dynamic “writing”. Inspired by the same melody and painted with the same palette, they can be arranged freely in an infinite variety of combinations but individually, they remain unique. A single totem, or several together, horizontal or vertical, interchangeable, they bring a particular type of energy to any given space, “dynamising” the light in the room.
